Full systems audits (FSA) : evaluating governance systems within an establishment or a project to understand how robust they are at maintaining compliance.
Each establishment will receive a FSA at least every three years if it does not hold special species and at least every year if it holds special species (Dogs, Cats, NHPs and Equine)
The establishment should receive formal written notification of the date for a systems audit to be conducted and a request for a ASRU inspection dossier and PPL spreadsheet to be returned within 14 days of the notification.
In 2022 there were just 4 FSA – there is a glaring discrepancy here as we know that far more than 4 Establishments have special species onsite. Some of the 4 may have been the 3 year audits for Establishments without species. These are the most in depth audits of the wholly inadequate systems yet they are ALL announced in advance.
