Jasmine the Liberated Beagle from Harlan (MBR Acres)

John from Camp Beagle and Josie @josieridgeart, the artist have a very, very special connection – Jasmine, a beagle who was liberated by the ALF in 1990 from the hell-hole Harlan, now known as MBR Acres…. (Watch the Video)

John went to prison for his part in freeing Jasmine whilst Jasmine, and the 81 other puppies (🐇and don’t forget the 26 liberated rabbits) all went on to LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER in good, safe loving homes.

Jasmine was adopted by Josie’s family and as is testified by the accompanying photos of her – SHE HAD THE BEST LIFE….she had peacefully passed away by the time Josie was born but she grew up with cherished family photos of beloved Jasmine around the house.

And then at Vegan Camp Out in 2023 Josie and her family were pottering along and came up to the Camp Beagle stall….

“Oh we had a beagle from here many many many years ago…Do you know John Curtin? He was one of the ones who got her out and we wanted to thank him”
“John is standing just over there”

They went over to speak to John and that was it – EVERYONE WAS IN FLOODS OF TEARS…followed by lots of hugs and Jasmine stories….an AMAZING connection.

“Hi John, I’m Derek and Angie’s daughter, Josie, we met at Vegan Camp Out this year and last year!

I’m currently doing a degree in illustration and for our current project we were asked to pick a person that inspired us and to create a biographical poster about them.

I decided to choose you, for all of the amazing work you have done for the beagles.”
