Camp Beagle Patron – Gentleman Ron

Ron 14th November 1920 – 22nd December 2022

Camp Beagle received photographs from the family of Ron, Camp’s Patron, and we have pleasure in reproducing them as tribute to the gentleman who will forever be fondly remembered by all involved in the MBR Campaign.

As a young man, Ron spent 6 war time years in the RAF as a pilot and flight engineer. Following WW2, he became a teacher and taught at many schools in the UK and in Australia. In his later life he became a vocal activist for a fairer world and a fundraiser for good causes.

He became vegan at the age of 100 and the patron of Camp Beagle at 101 years old.

Our sincere thanks go to Ron’s family and also to the photographer Martin Pope

The spirit of Ron is felt at camp each and every day.
