The Government will be deciding soon whether to add ‘Life Sciences’ to the Public Order Act. This means protesting or even intending to protest against animal testing facilities could be considered as ‘interfering’ with the national infrastructure, and people could be arrested and sentenced to up to 12 months in prison.
Infrastructure includes roads, rail, gas, electricity, etc. – NOT animals that are tested on in the name of fraudulent science. The Government has just launched its strategy to phase out animal testing. Which one is it, a ‘key national infrastructure’, or no longer necessary and being phased out?
