9% increase in the number of tests performed on dogs during 2025
The statistics on the tests performed on living animals for 2025 published last week are real evidence that the government plan to phase out animal testing is failing.
The government particularly promised to focused on reducing the number dogs and monkeys used in testing. The statistics show increases on the number of dogs and monkeys used as well as increases in the numbers of tests being performed on these animals.
It’s nearly a year since the government released their vagus plan to phase out animal testing, but NO UPDATE have been announced and no progress has been made.
These slides shows figures for specially protected species and in theory using them on experiments should be highly restricted, but in practice, using them just requires a little extra paperwork.
