RSPCA Double Standards Scandal!!

In March 2025, at the Institute of Animal Technicians Congress, the RSPCA ran a workshop to help laboratory workers cope with the emotional toll of killing animals – offering them support to deal with the “compassion fatigue” of causing pain and death in their daily work.

For over 4 years, we have been reporting the prolonged abandonment of the MBR beagles, who are regularly left unattended for 20 hours a day, and the RSPCA has NEVER taken any helpful steps. When we exposed shocking temperatures recorded on the windows of the sheds where MBR hundreds of beagles are imprisoned, the RSPCA was flooded with calls from concerned members of the public… and did absolutely NOTHING.

Instead of acting, the RSPCA simply commented on our post and cleared itself of any responsibility.

This is unacceptable. The RSPCA can NOT claim to stand for animal welfare while turning a blind eye to suffering on this scale.

At the very least, the RSPCA must:

▪︎ formally raise urgent concerns with the Animals in Science Regulation Unit at the Home Office;

▪︎ demand an immediate, independent investigation into the conditions inside MBR Acres sheds;

▪︎ publicly condemn MBR’s cruel breeding practices, which fail to meet even the most basic welfare standards for dogs.

The public expects the RSPCA to stand for the protection of ALL animals, not just of some.
