270 Dogs Flown from Marshall BioResources USA to Europe
30 dogs arrived in the UK and were taken to MBR Acres
Camp Beagle has uncovered the transportation of 270 dogs from Marshall BioResources’ facility in the United States to Europe, including 30 dogs that were brought into the UK and transported to MBR Acres.
On 18 April 2026, 270 dogs left Marshall BioResources’ North Rose facility in New York and were transported to JFK Airport.
From JFK, the dogs were flown by Cargojet to Liège Airport in Belgium, where the shipment was divided between three destinations:
• 214 dogs were transported to MBR breeding facilities in France
• 26 dogs were transported to Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH in Germany
• 30 dogs were flown to the UK and transported to MBR Acres
30 dogs arrive at MBR Acres.
The 30 dogs destined for the UK were flown from Liège to Manchester Airport by BinAir, arriving at 6:35pm on 19 April 2026.
From Manchester, they were transported to MBR Acres, Marshall BioResources’ beagle breeding facility in Cambridgeshire.
This is significant because it represents the first confirmed import of research dogs from the USA to the UK since September 2023.
In August 2023, Camp Beagle coordinated an international exposé into the transportation of beagles from the United States to laboratories across Europe.
Our investigation exposed how dogs were being transported from the USA through Copenhagen Airport before continuing to laboratories and research facilities across Europe.
The 30 dogs destined for the UK were flown from Liège to Manchester Airport by BinAir, arriving at 6:35pm on 19 April 2026.
From Manchester, they were transported to MBR Acres, Marshall BioResources’ beagle breeding facility in Cambridgeshire.
This is significant because it represents the first confirmed import of research dogs from the USA to the UK since September 2023.
In August 2023, Camp Beagle coordinated an international exposé into the transportation of beagles from the United States to laboratories across Europe.
Our investigation exposed how dogs were being transported from the USA through Copenhagen Airport before continuing to laboratories and research facilities across Europe.
Following the exposé, SAS stopped transporting US laboratory dogs through Copenhagen Airport. Camp Beagle subsequently identified no further shipments of US research dogs through Copenhagen by SAS or any other airline.
With the exception of 102 dogs imported into the UK on 9 September 2023, we identified no further imports of US research dogs into the UK — until the arrival of these 30 dogs on 19 April 2026.
We have continued monitoring imports and can confirm that no further imports into the UK were recorded between 19 April and 4 August 2026.
Why were dogs being moved between Marshall facilities?
The destination of the largest group raises further questions.
Of the 270 dogs transported from Marshall BioResources in the USA, 214 were sent to MBR breeding facilities in France and 30 were sent to MBR Acres in the UK.
The movement of such a large number of dogs from Marshall’s US facility to European breeding facilities raises serious questions about whether breeding stock is being replenished in Europe.
This comes at a time when both the UK and EU have committed to strategies aimed at reducing and ultimately replacing the use of animals in scientific research with human-relevant, non-animal methods.
Instead, dogs are still being transported internationally within the animal-research supply chain.
The destination of the largest group raises further questions.

Most likely these dogs were brought in to replenish breeding colonies, therefore the question that deserves an answer is:
What happened to the breeding dogs they replaced?
Camp Beagle will continue investigating the international movement of dogs bred for research and exposing the companies, facilities and transport networks involved.
Dogs should not be bred, transported and supplied for experimentation. The future of medical research must be human-relevant and animal-free.
